SkyHive has introduced a 5-point proficiency scale to mimic the same system of skills as part of other HMC applications.
The new 5-point proficiency scale utilizes our same matching technology to offer skills-based training recommendations and support employee career pathing.
What are the new levels?
The new 5-point proficiency scale is defined and measured at the following levels:
Do I need to change to 5-point proficiency levels?
No. We introduced the 5-point proficiency scale to provide interoperability with some organizations' HCM such as WorkDay or SuccessFactors. This will allow for a seamless exchange of information.
How does this new scale impact a Skills Assessment?
While the functionality remains the same, users can now choose from 5 levels instead of 3.
What happens to users who have already conducted a Skills Assessment on the 3-point scale?
For existing profiles that were completed on the 3-point scale, here is the updated mapping:
New 5 levels |
Current 3 levels |
Expert (5) |
Experienced (3) |
Advanced (4) |
Intermediate (2) |
Experienced (3) |
Intermediate (2) |
Intermediate (2) |
Entry (1) |
Beginner (1) |
Entry (1) |
Do you recommend that users go back and adjust their levels to ensure it is accurate with the current mapping?
Yes. To ensure users are content with their assessment, we suggest they go back and adjust any skills that they feel could be rated either too high or too low on the 5-Point scale.
This can be accomplished by selecting the Edit icon within the Skills section of their profile.
Where can users find a definition of the new scale?
Within a Skills Profile, the information icon will provide any user with a definition of the new 5-point scale.
Have the Managerial Assessments changed too?
Yes. The same functionality applies, but the new 5-point proficiency levels have also been introduced here.
