Matches will provide you with a list of individuals whose skills and qualifications are great matches for the role. They can be internal employees, external candidates, or qualified candidates from SkyHive's own talent pool.
To view Matches for a Job you have posted, please follow the steps below.
Step 1: Select the Talent Acquisition module from the left menu bar. If you don't see a menu bar, click on the hamburger menu icon on the top left corner, then select Talent Acquisition.
Step 2: Click on the Position title under My Jobs or Active Jobs.
Note: You can also leverage the filtering criteria to locate the published Position.
Step 3: You can then view a list of individuals whose skills and qualifications match the role for the job under the MATCHES tab.
Note: If you have a long list of Candidates, it could be helpful to filter from the following categories.
- Name
- Source - Internal or External
- Department
- Country
- Minimum Total Match - The ability to adjust a Total Match score for the most qualified candidates that match the skills you set for your Job Posting)
- Status - Applied or Offered
- Skills - Is there a specific skill or set of skills you are searching for?
- Match Type - Location or country wide?
The middle bar will display the Number of Matches for Internal and External Matches. The View can also be adjusted to dive into consolidated analytics.
Step 4: Matches will be displayed with the following information:
- Name
- Applications - The number of applications for internal company roles
- Total Match - Includes non-skill match factors like distance, pay rate, and relevant experience
- Match Score - Match between employee profile and job requirements
- Source - Internal by default
Internal Matches
Step 1: To the far right of an Internal Match, you can select the following options from the three-dot menu.
- Change Status to Invited - This employee will receive a notification that they have been invited to apply or interview which moves them to become a Candidate
- Add Skills to Profile - Add skills this employee may already have
- Endorse Skills -To Endorse a skill means providing your expert's opinion of the partial/missing skills
- Recommend/Train Missing Skills - Recommend or assign training to this employee to close skill gaps
- Assign Mentorship - Assign a mentor to go through knowledge transfer internally
- Hide - Hides them from the MATCHES tab
- Add New Note - A note will be added under their profile
- Download to Excel - Information for this employee will be downloaded to a spreadsheet
Step 2: Alternatively, click on the employee’s name to view their full profile.
From here, you can view their personal details, work experience, education, skills, make notes on the employee, view other applications that have been submitted along with how they match up with other positions within your organization.
External Matches
Step 1: You may also choose to view External Matches as well. The external matches will be displayed and ranked in order of Skills Match.
Note: You can source by Total Match by selecting the Total Match category name.
Step 2: To the far right of an external match, you will have the ability to select the following options from the three-dot menu to the far right.
- Change Status to Invited - Moves them under the CANDIDATES tab
- Hide - Hides them from the MATCHES tab
- Add New Note - A note will be added under their applicant profile
- Blocklist - This will reject them from all positions they are currently applying for, and will automatically reject their future applications
- Download to Excel - Information for this employee will be downloaded to a spreadsheet
Step 3: To expand the match, click the arrow before the person's name.
Note: In this specific example, their name have not been disclosed.
Step 4: You will then be able to view the following breakdown:
- Location - In this example, they are located in North Vancouver
- Shared skills – Current skills that the Match already has that are needed for the job posting
- Skills to Train – Skills that the Match does not have that are required for the job posted
- Skills Match – A percentage that shows how similar the skillset of the Match is to the job posted
- Total Match – A percentage that shows the overall match to the job posting. This takes into account non-skill factors such as relevant experience, job type, location, and compensation preference.
- Match Breakdown - A breakdown of the skill matches that can be seen when the candidate/match card is opened
Note: All this information can be used to determine better if the Match is viable for the job posting and if you wish to view more of their information.
Step 5: Click on the name to view their full profile.
From here, you can view their personal details, work experience, education, skills, make notes and view other applications that have been submitted.
Step 6: If you were to choose to View Indeed Profile, you will be able to view their public resume.
In this example, you could sign in to your Indeed account to message the Match or even Save/Download their resume. Additional details such as their name and contact information could be revealed.
Step 7: You can shortlist a candidate by selecting "change status to invited." From there, you can move them through 3 other statuses:
1. Change status to Interviews Passed
2. Change status to rejected by HR
3. Change status to rejected by Candidate
If you change their status to hire, you will be given the option to create an Employee profile for them. You can do so by selecting the "Create a new employee profile now" checkbox.
