Assess Employee Skills

As a Manager or Admin, you can play a role in assessing and validating an employee’s competency levels.

Step 1:  Access the Employees Module on the left-hand menu.

Step 2: Select the employee using the available search parameters.

Step 3: Under the specific employee's profile, select ASSESS SKILLS under the ASSESSMENTS tab.

Individual Updates 

You can either select an individual skill or skills where the status bar will become active.

To rate the skill or skills you have selected, there will be the option to select the appropriate proficiency level from the drop-down above. 

Statuses include:

  • No Level Changes
  • Experiences 
  • Intermediate 
  • Entry

Next, you will set the assessment state to either Pending or Assessed

  • Pending (meaning no assessments)
  • Assessed (meaning assessment has been done)

Once completed, select Update

A green checkmark will now appear next to the newly Assessed skills.

If you made a mistake or wish to clear the skills you Assessed, simply select Reset.

To Cancel or Save Assessment, select from one of the two options below.

You will then be able to view the newly Assessed skill or skills under the Assessments tab as they will appear with the adjusted proficiency level next to the skill.

To reveal additional details, click on the Assessed skill to view the following details:

  • The Self-Assessment Score - What the employee chose as their proficiency level for the skill 
  • Average Score between the Self Assessment and Managerial Assessment
  • Who Assessed The Skill - Chris Myers in the example below
  • The Managerial Assessed Level - What the manager assessed as the employee's proficiency level for the skill 
  • The Date It Was Assessed

Bulk Updates 

In order to provide bulk updates, you have the option to Select All. All skills below will now be selected.

Deselect All will deselect all skills on the page.

You may also deselect individual skills if you do want them included as Assessed.

In the example below, Cost Reduction and Management have been deselected.

In order to proceed with Assessing the skills, select the drop-down from the status bar and choose from the following options:

  • No Level Changes
  • Experiences 
  • Intermediate 
  • Entry

Next, you will set the assessment state to either Pending or Assessed.
