The Position Comparison page allows you to search any job title, and it will show you the skills required by this role based on real-time labor market data, roles that are similar to this one, their supply and demand conditions, the skill gaps between these two positions and relevant training that corresponds to the skill gaps.
Initial Position Search
You may look up a particular position by populating the Position search bar with the desired position or by selecting one of the recommended positions displayed. Available options may stem from:
- Jobs currently published in your enterprise.
- Positions defined within your enterprise structure.
- Positions defined by your Skill Blueprints.
Select Suggest Positions to see these recommended Positions.

Comparing Your Initial Search to Projected Positions
Below the skill of a searched position, similar positions will populate the screen as shown below. You are additionally able to search for specific roles to understand skill matches.
You may also search by Position search bar and Industry sector.
- Skills Match: The percentage under the column will display how closely the position aligns with your original search. Example: A Software Engineer has a 95% Skills Match to the role of Principal Software Engineer
- Salary Range: Based on labor market data, you will receive a range of salaries for the role over the past year
- Supply/Demand: Each percentage represents the portion of the selected skill within all skills in the labor market within the region over the past year
- Supply trend: Average number of job profiles fitting this position in the last 30 days (month) in comparison to the average number of job profiles fitting this position in the last 180 days (six months)
- Demand trend: Average number of job postings for this position in the last 30 days (month) in comparison to the average number of job postings for this position in the last 180 days (six months)

- Top Relevant Training: Recommended training opportunities to bridge any skills gap between the initial and projected positions.

Position Comparison is a powerful tool within SkyHive that enables users to identify potential roles to upskill their workforce. Position Comparison allows users to search for specific roles and see how similar they are to other roles that may be emerging. This enables admins to identify roles similar to what is searched. Additionally, through Position Comparison, they can ensure that their workforce maintains relevance in the labor market by identifying emerging roles in a given geography.
