Explore Training Opportunities
Step 1: You can find available training programs to continually upskill and develop your capabilities.
Select the Training & Development tab from the left-hand menu to explore available training.
Step 2: Under Training, select the blue Find Training button.
Step 3: You will now have the ability to make a Training Request that will either be approved or rejected by your Direct Manager or Administrator.
You can search for a specific Skill/Skills you wish to gain, a specific Course Name or a Training Provider.
Advanced Filters will reveal Course Level, Course Type, Location and Language.
Note: The user should consider searching for courses to help them fill skill gaps where they aren’t quite at an Advanced Level. Example: Steve is at an Entry-level in Graphic Design and feels that upskilling will further assist him in creating content for recruiting. |
Search for Skills: You can enter the Skill or Skills. Wait a few seconds for the generated list.
Next, you can select the Proficiency Level.
Once you have entered the Skill, the list of Recommended Courses best suited to meet your desired Skill and Proficiency Level will be populated.
Note: If you’re unsure what you’re looking for, SkyHive will produce a list of Recommended Courses based on live labor market demand for your current position. |
Search for Course Name: If you were to type in “Graphic Design,” wait a few seconds and the courses below with Graphic Design in the title will be populated.
Course Provider: You can filter courses by a specific provider from the Course Provider dropdown.
You can check the box to the left of a provider’s name and select the blue Save button to continue.
Step 4: Once selected, it’s time to view which course you would like to request.
The following information is provided below:
- Course Name
- Course Type: Online or In-Class?
- Skills Match: How closely the course matches your Skill/Skills search
- Duration: How long does it take to complete?
- Price: How much will it cost the company
- Request: The ability to request training
- Level: Entry, Intermediate or Advanced? (If not defined, it may appear blank)
Step 5: To the left of a course, you can select the blue arrow to view additional details.
The following information is provided below:
-
Covered Skills: This is based on what you searched for
- Other Training Skills: Additional skills that will be gained which were not searched for
- Language: What language is the course in?
- Course Description: Details about the course
- External Link: This will take you directly to the course to view direct details
Note: While SkyHive regularly updates course details, it’s well-advised that you check the External Link to ensure the information is accurate since it’s from that direct source. It’s also important to consider the time commitment of each course since many ranges from hours to weeks. |
Step 6: Once you have determined which course you would like to request, select the blue Request button to the far right of a course.
Note: For many of these courses, you must register on the provider website, or if it’s LinkedIn, the course would be free if you are already a Premium Member. |
Step 7: Enter a comment from your training request that will be provided to an Administrator.
Step 8: Once you have requested the course, the request will be provided to an Administrator who will either Approve or Reject the request.
You will automatically be taken to the Status page under the Training tab, where you can view the status (which defaults to All) along with pertinent details.
You can also select the WITHDRAW button to rescind your request.
You may also select the Status dropdown to view the statuses instead of All specifically.
