Add Training Content

Adding Training Content Manually

Step 1: Select Training & Development on the left menu bar followed by Course Catalog.

Step 2: Select the ADD NEW COURSE button.

Step 3: Fill in the following fields:

Note: * = Required

  • Course Name *
  • Level * (Beginner, intermediate or Advanced)
  • Price
  • Currency
  • Duration 
  • Course Description
  • Course Type* (Online or In-Class)
  • Location
  • Language*
  • URL Link
  • First and last date available to employees
  • Training Skills

Step 4: SkyHive then produces a list of skills extracted from the course's name and description. You can select skills taught in this course and indicate the skill's proficiency level on a three-point scale.

Step 5: You can also manually add skills using the search bar.

OPTIONAL: Add a suggested Career Path

By selecting Add Suggestion, you may enter a position along with the Suggestion Type

  • Mandatory From
  • Mandatory To 

A mandatory course will be preselected without the ability to remove it from the training plan.

A recommended course is optional. It can be added and removed from the training plan.

Step 6: After adding skills, click CREATE at the bottom. 

Your new training content is now added to your Training Dashboard and visible to eligible employees.

Bulk Uploading Training Content

Step 1: Select Training & Development on the left menu bar, followed by Course Catalog.

Step 2: Next, select the More Actions dropdown, then Import Courses.

Step 3: Download the template which can be used for uploading courses.

Step 4: Using 'Communication 101' as an example, fill in the template in the order displayed.

Categories include: 

  • Name: Title of the course
  • Level: (1 = Beginner, 2 = Intermediate, 3 = Advanced)
  • Price: Set to the default currency of your environment
  • Duration: A number based on the units before 
  • Duration Units: (1 = minutes, 2 = hours, 3 = days, 4 = weeks, 5 = months)
  • Description: A description of the course 
  • URL: If taken online 
  • From Position and To Position: If part of a Career Path, you would list the initial position and the future position. 
  • Mandatory: Is this a mandatory course an employee must complete?
  • First Date Available to Employees: (dd/mm/yyyy)
  • Last Date Available to Employees (dd/mm/yyyy)
  • Entry Level Skills: Are there specific skills at this proficiency you want to be included?
  • Intermediate Skills: Are there specific skills at this proficiency you want to be included?
  • Experienced Skills: Are there specific skills at this proficiency you want to be included?
  • Extract Skills from Description (Y/N): This means the skills extracted for the course will derive specifically from the course description you provide 
  • Proficiency Level of All Extracted Skills: (1=Entry Level | 2=Intermediate | 3=Experienced)
  • Course Description File Name

Step 5: Once you have successfully filled in your Excel file, you may upload it by dragging and dropping the file or browsing for it.

Step 6: You will receive a notification indicating the status of your import. Once successfully imported, you can search for the course from the Course Catalog.
