Skills Profile Overview

Selecting the Profile tab will take you to your SkyHive profile. The points below cover what you need to know. 

Employee Data will be pre-loaded via initial data load, integration, or manual filling.

Note: The quickest way to access your profile is by selecting Profile from the blue side menu.

Within your Skills profile, you will see self-assessed or pre-populated skills brought over via integration and how your skills match the job role defined by your company. 

In the example below, Amir is a 58% match to his position based on his matching skills and gaps.

By selecting the "Improve match" option, you can add a skill that may have been missed or find training to close gaps.

Matching skills to job role vs. gaps by types offers a visualization of your matching skills and gaps related to each skill type. 

To view a definition of each skill type, select Learn skill types.

When clicking on a specific section, the matching skills or gaps by skill type will be displayed at the bottom of the page.

In the example below, General Gaps were selected.

Skills 

The Skills section of your profile displays all your skills and a breakdown of skills that match your current position and their gaps.

Search for a skill: This will highlight one of the skills you either possess or are missing. 

Filter: This will allow you to filter by View or Skill type. These filters can be layered together.

In the example below, Gaps have been selected under the View filter and General under the Skill type. This will specifically display functional skill gaps.

Find Training: This option will take you directly to the Training section under Skills Development.

The skills listed will have been identified from the missing and partial skills section. 

A maximum of 3 skills can be selected, which will identify courses to address gaps identified. In this example, courses will be matched based on the three chosen skills. 

Once Find pieces of training has been selected, recommended training options will be displayed.


Add Skills: This will allow you to add a new skill or skills

Search for a Skill 

To search for a skill to add, enter the skill into the text box. Wait a few seconds, and a list will be populated to choose from.

Recommended Skills 

SkyHive provides skill recommendations from two sources:

  1. Labor Market - skills in high demand for your type of role
  2. Personal Info - skills extracted from your resume or profile details

To add a recommended skill, click on it and select your proficiency level. Click "Show More" to see additional skill recommendations. 

Skills extracted from your info are ordered from most to least relevant.

You can either add and assess skills individually or in bulk.

Individually 

  • Select the skill followed by the level from the dropdown
  • Select Save level

In Bulk 

  • Select skills followed by the level from the dropdown (This Level will apply to all skills you have selected)
  • Select Save level

Saving Skills 

Once a skill or skills have been added, select Save at the bottom of the screen to add them to your profile.

Selecting a Skill 

Clicking on a specific skill will provide insight into the rating history and additional actions. 

Skills Source Identification

When you view a skill on a profile, you will see an icon indicating if the skill was manually added or automatically extracted by our AI.

List of Skills 

  • Skill: What is the skill you possess? 
  • Skill type: Is it a functional, technical or soft skill? 
  • Rating:  How you assessed yourself on the skill 
  • Required level: The proficiency level mandated by your company as a requirement for your specific job role

Note: Select the info icon for a definition of each category. 


Three-Dot Menu: Existing Skills  

By selecting the three-dot menu to the far right of the skill, you may either edit it, find training or remove it.

Three-Dot Menu: Gaps 

You may add the skill or find training by selecting the three-dot menu to the far right of the skill.

View Job Description

View job description can be located within your Skills profile and offer additional context on your position, such as an overview and required skills.

In this example, Wade views the sales representative job description as his company defines. 

He will also see a breakdown of his matching skills to the role and gaps in the role. His company also defines these skills as a requirement. 

Wade can also see the Required Skills section of his job description, which is located at the bottom of the page. 

 

Personal Information - Edit 

To modify Personal Information, select the Edit button. 

 

Work Experience, Projects, Education, Credentials, Hobbies 

Selecting Import from your resume will allow you to pre-populate the information below, but you can also Edit specific sections by selecting Edit.
