Explore Training Opportunities 

Step 1: You can find available training programs to upskill and develop your capabilities continually.

Select the Training & Development tab from the left-hand menu to explore available training.

Step 2: Under Training, select the blue Find Training button.

Step 3: You will now have the ability to make a Training Request that will either be approved or rejected by your Advisor or Administrator. 

You can search for a specific Skill/Skills you wish to gain, a specific Course Name or a Training Provider. 

Advanced Filters will reveal Course Level, Course Type, Campus, and Language.

Note: The user should consider searching for courses to help them fill skill gaps where they aren’t quite at an Advanced Level.

Example: Steve is at an entry level in Graphic Design and feels that upskilling will further assist him in creating content for recruiting. 

Search for Skills: You can enter the Skill or Skills. Wait a few seconds for the generated list.

Next, you can select the Proficiency Level

Once you have entered the Skill, the Recommended Courses best suited to meet your desired Skill and Proficiency Level will be populated.

Note: If you’re unsure what you’re looking for, SkyHive will produce a list of Recommended Courses based on live labor market demand for your current position.

Select Suggest Skills, one of the Recommended Courses and then choose a Proficiency Level. 


Search for Course Name: If you were to type in “Graphic Design,” wait a few seconds and the courses below with Graphic Design in the title will be populated.

Course Provider: This will be set to any SAIT courses by default.

Step 4: Once selected, it’s time to view which course you would like to request. 

The following information is provided below:

  • Course Name
  • Course Type: Online or In-Class? 
  • Skills Match: How closely the course matches your Skill/Skills search 
  • Duration: How long does it take to complete? 
  • Price: How much will it cost the company 
  • Request: The ability to request training 
  • Level: Entry, Intermediate or Advanced? (If not defined, it may appear blank)

Step 5: To the left of a course, you can select the blue arrow to view additional details.

The following information is provided below:

  • Covered Skills: This is based on what you searched for
  • Other Training Skills: Additional skills that will be gained which were not searched for
  • Language: What language is the course in?
  • Course Description: Details about the course 
  • External Link: This will take you directly to the course to view direct details

Note: While SkyHive regularly updates course details, it’s well-advised that you check the External Link to ensure the information is accurate since it’s from that direct source.

It’s also important to consider the time commitment of each course since many range from hours to weeks. 


Step 6:
Once you have determined which course you would like to request, select the blue VIEW button to the far right of a course.

Step 7: This is where you will decide to enrol for the course.
