    Hi Jose,

    Great question.

It all starts from understanding core and non-core skills. The SkyHive definition of skills is broad and including soft skills, hard skills, tools, technologies, methodologies, and languages. Questions to ask when creating a job posting is, what is core skills needed for the job (aka. required skills) and what is complimentary skills (aka. optional skills)?

Throughout the stages of creating the requirement for a job, employers are assisted with Labor Market Insights including Job Description Generators, Skills Metrics, Skills Analysis, and Supply & Demand Data. With the insights, employers can make top-tier decisions to match jobs with candidates.

A good job match is when the candidate shows capability (core skills), and high potential (complimentary skills). We've seen often times candidates with skill gaps perform better long term due to a mutual benefit where the employee is providing services to the company, while expanding their capability along the way.

    Cheers
